Yummy Lamingtons in Dauphin !!!

Week 20 Provence

Hello Mr Day and 4/5 S

Since I last wrote I have been to Nimes, which has an arena like the one in Rome but much smaller. They used it for Bull Fighting and they still do! They also had Gladiators in the arena.

After Nimes we went on a walk in the Alps, it was really high! It was a really big walk so we were taking short cuts.  On one of the short cuts we found a skeleton of a goat! My Mum saw it first and said ‘Let’s not go that way’. I thought it was a snake at first but then I saw the skull and we went around it. When we got to the top of the mountain where the walk ended, there was a lake. The walk went on to other mountains but we didn’t go. Some of the mountains had snow on them too. On the way back home we had a GPS. We just needed it to get out of the town we went through. But it took us a different way home. My Mum looked at the turn off he was trying to take us and said ‘this looks like a shorter route’ so we took it. But then we got lost! It kept telling us “Turn around when possible” or “turn right” or “Turn left” and we just got to the same spot every time! Finally we got on to the right road and it was NOT QUICKER!

We have also been doing ‘Australia’ presentations to people and made Lamingtons and Pavlovas. Everyone loves Lamingtons! We have also given an Australian Flag and Kimi the Koala to the class over here. Kimi is sitting on top of a lamp in the classroom. One of the Pavlovas we made for the owners of the house who came over for dinner. I think they loved it!

Goodbye!
