Gorges du Verdon .... Cooooool !!

Week 19 Provence

Hello Mr Day and 4/5 S

Since I last wrote my grandma has come over for a week. We had to go and pick her up from Marseille which is two hours from here. Her plane was at 10.00pm so we were very tired when we got back. My grandma loves playing a game called Dada and we played it almost every day because I was sick that week. She also played hopscotch and ‘pick-up-sticks’. In French they call Hopscotch “La Marelle”.

We went on a visit with Nana to an abbey with beautiful gardens. They had fish, frogs, a huge zucchini and huge pear looking things. When we dropped her back to the airport it was raining but it wasn’t bad BUT  when we were coming back there was hail, rain and a traffic jam. I think it took us one hour more to get home.

We have also been to a place called Gorges du Verdon. We went on a pedallo for two hours. We came back 45 minutes early and had a swim. My mum came in but not my Dad- he was still controlling the pedallo. My mum couldn’t get up into the boat so she had to be towed by the boat. I could get up but I thought it would be fun so I stayed in the water with her.

We also have been to two famous bridges. First we went to Pont d’Avignon and then Pont du Gard which is actually a Roman aqueduct.

Here at school we can go to a canteen for lunch which has a three course meal. The first time I went I had a really nice dessert; it was a custardy tart thing!

Goodbye for now
